Stich Award!
HBRA Annual Awards
By Carrier is a proud member of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Central Connecticut. Over the years, the HBRA of Central CT has recognized By Carrier’s energy-efficient construction with more than 50 Home Building Industry (HOBI) Awards. We are humbled that our very own Johnny Carrier was selected for the 2018 Irving R. Stich Award! At the annual awards ceremony, Johnny was honored for his involvement in the residential construction industry and service to the community.
In 2017, Johnny became the builder representative on the State Codes and Standards Committee. Shortly after, the fire marshals proposed fire sprinklers be required in new townhomes. Johnny knew this proposal would have a significant impact on home affordability and attainability, so he opposed the mandate. Although it seemed like this requirement would be approved, the Legislature’s Regulations Review Committee unanimously rejected the proposal in May 2018. The committee stated there was no statutory authority for the sprinkler mandate.

Johnny Carrier is a second-generation member of the Carrier family. In the 1960s, his father and uncles moved to the United States for a new opportunity in the home building industry. By Carrier Inc. was the result of their efforts.
Johnny has been actively involved in the family business since he was 13 years old! His goal continues to be better quality, energy-efficient building methods and lower long-term maintenance for all By Carrier homes.
